Greetings!
A little information about myself –
My wife, Jane and I are both originally from the UK and we met through a shared interest in musical theatre when we were both working in Jersey in the Channel Islands. We have been married for just under sixteen years.
Jane has spent most of her career working as a lawyer and is currently working as a researcher at UWA. We have two children, Toby aged 15 and Celine aged 13 who both attend Shenton College.
Prior to ordination, I worked for 31 years in the finance industry. I was ordained in 2010, and initially licensed as a self-supporting minister, moving into full time stipendiary ministry in 2013. We moved to Australia in January 2016 when I was appointed Rector of the Parish of Swanbourne-Mt. Claremont.
Before my call to ordination I served for twenty-five years as choirmaster of various churches and continue to take a keen interest in church music. Throughout my initial training I was based at St. Peter’s Parish Church in Jersey, which is where I also served my curacy.
I subsequently served as Associate Priest in the Parish of St. Brelade, Jersey, which is very popular with tourists and which has the distinction of being the most southerly church in the British Isles.
In addition to that, I have served as a volunteer hospital chaplain and undertaken a short placement at St. Andrew’s Cathedral in Hawaii.
It was in Hawaii that I developed a keen interest in outreach and social justice. I have always had an interest in ministry to the elderly and the housebound and was appointed to the Board of Amana Living last year. I am also a member of their Finance and Audit sub-committee. Within the Province, I serve as a member of the Provincial Stipends Committee.
In my spare time, I enjoy music, cooking, gardening, theatre, spending time with friends, and walking Alfie our three-year-old Golden Retriever, who will ensure you get a very enthusiastic welcome if you visit us at the Rectory!
With every blessing.
Fr. Nick
